The In-Between Season
This past month hasn’t been loud or wildly adventurous in the way people might expect from us—but it’s been full in a different way. The kind of full that doesn’t always photograph well, but matters just as much.
We’re still working through PopPop’s medical appointments, taking things one step at a time, one visit at a time. It’s been a season of patience more than movement… but underneath it, there’s this quiet momentum building. Because we can feel it—we’re getting close to rolling out again. If all goes as planned, we’ll be back on the road within the next week or so.
And honestly? We’re ready.
In the middle of all that, we walked through one of those big life moments that doesn’t ask if you’re ready—it just arrives. We helped our youngest son pack up and prepare for Air Force basic training. There’s something sacred about watching your child step into their own life like that. Pride, nerves, love… all tangled together. It’s a different kind of letting go when your home has wheels, but somehow it hits just as deep.
Back inside the bus, we’ve been slowly reshaping our space again. Seven months in, we’re understanding what works—and what absolutely doesn’t. The big bulky dresser? Gone. In its place, a storage bench that actually makes sense for how we live. Functional, simple, and a whole lot lighter—physically and mentally.
We’ve also been adding little touches here and there. Nothing fancy, nothing expensive. Just pieces that make the space feel like us. Because that’s something we’re learning as we go—home isn’t about how much you can fit into a space… it’s about how a space feels when you’re in it.
And this little bus? It’s finally starting to feel like it’s holding us the way it’s supposed to.
That’s kind of what this whole journey has been, if we’re being honest. Not polished. Not perfectly planned. Just real life, unfolding in real time. Some days look like sunsets and open roads. Other days look like laundry, doctor visits, and reworking your entire living space for the third time.
But all of it counts.
We’re still learning. Still adjusting. Still choosing this life every single day.
And if you’ve been following along with us—whether you’ve been here since the beginning or just found us in the middle of the mess—we’re really glad you’re here. This isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about building something honest, one step at a time.
Next stop… wherever the road decides to take us.
